3 wks out and needing encouragement!

I was wondering how others were doing emotionally at this point. It looks like I am not alone! I am so the same way! I keep getting after my DH, and all he is doing is trying to help! I feel like I haven't improved physically for days. And I too am sick and tired of being sick and tired. So today, I pulled out the Romance Novels I had bought before the surgery and dug in. I also had DH help me set up a puzzle to work on. This stuff I never had time to do. So I have decided to try and enjoy my time before its back to the "real world". Good luck to you and Happy Healing!

3 wks out and needing encouragement!

I am five weeks out today and started back to work half-days, which has helped my emotional side some. I have felt so lost and hopeless on some days. I have found reading a book or watching a movie usually helps alot. But I know in the last five weeks I have cried and cried for no apparant (not spelled right) reason at all. My kids (both boys so that doesnt' help) will look at me and say now what is wrong with you? I never have an answer for them, seeing I am not really sure myself. I really things get better day by day......I cried alot in week three, I was still hurting, bored and just plain miserable. On top of that I live in Las Vegas, we are going on like our 7th or 8th day of 120 heat, so you can't even go outside and get a breath of fresh air, you can't take a walk and the pool is still out for another week or so. So sometimes I feel like I am getting cabin fever or something, I just want to throw things, scream, kick, anything to make it feel better.

I sure feel for you, because I am right there with you. You are in my prayers as are all the other sisters on this board. Just take care of you, pamper yourself, and tell everybody else to take a hike if they don't understand.

HUGS,
Cheryl

3 wks out and needing encouragement!

Hi everyone,
I am 4 weeks out of LSH surgery, kept the overies and cervix, uterus weighed in at 200 grams! Since the surgery I have had no back problems and lots more energy. However last week I started to bleed, which is strange since nothing came out of the vagina. My doctor used nitroglycerin on the spot and so far it seems to be helping to stop the bleeding he also gave me an antiboatic and now I think I have a yeast or bacteria infection. Does anyone know if I can use over the counter yeast creams. Thanks for your help.
Hugs Jean

3 wks out and needing encouragement!

Hello again everyone and again, thanks so much for your words of encouragement and shared stories. I love this website so much because I can actually relate and talk to women like me. I'm feeling better tonight, but still emotional. I have a dr. apt. tomorrow because I'm having new pain in my left side where the ovary he left is. I'm going to be sure to discuss the crying issue. I do take Wellibutrin and I've had a lot of people say, maybe it's time for a change, but I don't want to change it right now in the middle of this. I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel, just gotta be patient. And yes, I'm reading books, putting a puzzle together in the kitchen, which helps me get out of bed and watching movies. I finally could joke again tonight and told my BF that if I laid in the bed much longer I'd become part of the mattress...haha...but I know I need rest. It's just a little discouraging not to heal at a faster rate...and to have to take it easy..and to hurt so long...but things could be worse...and I'm going to try to count my blessings right now...good luck to everyone else and thanks for your replies...

Jean,
I think the "nothing in the vagina" rule applies to creams too. I developed a yeast infection from all of the antibiotics and my doc prescribed the diflucan pill for me - said "no" to any of the creams.

I hope everyone else is seeing a brighter side to their recoveries today - I know for me I am okay until I find out something else I can't do yet and then I get a little down. But, like it is always repeated we only get one chance to heal.... and really it is just a short amount of time and if we listen we will feel so much better for the rest of our lives!!

Have a great day, princesses!!

I can understand how you feel. I am 5 weeks as of yesterday and have had complications. I think it really helps to have people around you. I am glad to hear you are feeling better.

Hi pretty~ I'm glad you are doing better today.

Jean and Aimee~ You might want to ask your doctor about taking acidopholus when you take the antibiotics. It is an over-the-counter item that really helps fight the yeast infections when you are taking antibiotics...it is called a pro-biotic. I was on a ton of antibiotics after my hyst and a friend recommended the pro-biotic. Now, every time I'm on an antibiotic, instead of eating yogurt I will take the pro-biotics.

Of course, with anything OTC, you ought to do your research to see if it is right for you and run it by your doctor. For me, it was worth not having to deal with those nasty yeast infections! Yikes...

I hope your recovery continues to go well....get plenty of rest....and pamper the princes
