finally a date

Just recevied my date on last Friday. Having a TAH on July 25 Scared but have been waiting a long time. Having it done because of endometriosis and uterine fibroids. Also worried have heard that you loose weight after hysterectomy. I'm very tiny now if I loose anymore weight I will disappear: lol: any suggestions???

Weight lost is different with each person, I lost about 10 lbs, but I was and still am over weight (by dr standards). Some of the loss is due to what is removed, but that is only about a 1-3 lbs.

Just think, now you maybe able to have that two scoop sunday.

Hi, I'm not very big either. I'm almost 5' 2"and just under 110 pounds. I lost about 8 pounds or so right after my hyst. Mostly because I couldn't eat very much at a time for awhile - not much appetite either ( that's NOT normal for me). I did gain it back after I healed, now I'm just about the weight that I was pre hyst. I'm an active person - just can't sit still for long.

What I did to help was to make sure that I DID eat, I had my family help to remind me ( pain meds make me loopy ). I tried to eat healthy foods. What worked for me was soups, sherbets, fruit and fruit juices, ice cream - anything that I could tolerate and was easy to digest. I avoided anything that was gas producing. Instead of 3 meals a day, for awhile I ate several small "snacks" during the day. It worked pretty well.
