Pain, Pain and more Pain! Please Help!!
I've not posted on here for a while, hopefully someone is going through the same thing and can help me. My LAVH/TAH was on December 3. 5 weeks after surgery I was in the ER with internal infections where the stitches were. 3 months out I had laparoscopic surgery on March 18 to remove scar tissue and adhesions from my colon and abdomen. These formed after the hysterectomy on December 3. I'm now at exactly 6 months post op- have been having horrible pain in my lower left abdomen for 2 months. I've had 3 CT scans, xrays, colonoscopy, blood work, etc.. nothing is showing up. I have been to 3 different ERs in the past month, nothing. 1 doctor told me I'd pulled muscles, haha. 2nd doctor said it was diverticulitis, 3rd doctor ordered the colonoscopy. Results came back normal. He said it might be IBS- never had so much pain until AFTER the hysterectomy. My OBGYN released me 2 months ago and said whatever it was, its not GYN related and he could no longer help me. But again, never had this pain before surgery. I am taking Bentyl now but it does nothing. I'm honestly at my wits end. If I would have known that 6 months out I would still be in pain, worse than before the surgery, I would NEVER have had it done! Have lost a total of 50lbs since December also. Anyone else gone through this? (sorry for the long post!)

Sounds like adhesions/scar tissue. And some times they can't be picked up by test/scans. Also sounds like Endometiosis I bet if you had a Lap they would find something. But i'm sure the last thing you want is another operation. Best wishes to you I hope you feel well soon!

I am so sorry you are hurting so badly! :console
If you had adhesions before, you could have adhesions again and of course, they are not likely to show up on any test.
Is there a pelvic pain specialist in your area? Someone who primariy treats women with chronic pain issues? What about a pain management facility? One of the two options may offer you some better help.
I would also suggest keeping a pain diary being as specific as you can be. You might like using ReliefInsite’s online pain diary. Some times if you can "show" your doctor what you are feeling it can help them make better assessments.
You may also want to try talking to your primary care physician. S/he may be able to refer you to a specialist who can help you.
I am sending many s and best wishes your way! I hope you find a doctor who will listen and work with you soon! If necessary, visit your local ER or an urgent care facility!

Pain, Pain and more Pain! Please Help!!
I am 7 months post-op and I am experiencing a lower left pelvic pain, in addition to a rectal stabbing sensation. I never had these symptoms prior to the surgery, but this week has been so severe that I've started taking the hydrocodone prescribed from my surgery. I'm going to start my rounds with doctors this week. Someone will have to help me, because I can't live like this.

Faifylou, I'm so sorry you're going through this !
I wish I had an answer to your questions, but I don't. Try to stay positive - they didn't find anything in the tests they've run so its probably not life threatening. I know living with pain isn't the way you want to live, but there are ways around pain - accupuncture might be a solution and more and more insurance companies are covering it for pain management.
The pelvic pain specialist sounds like a good idea also.
TNJ71 - you hang in there also. I hope they find a solution to your issues fast fast fast and that they are easily resolved.

Pain, Pain and more Pain! Please Help!!
Faifylou,
It's been almost 4 month's since my hysterectomy and I have alot of pain in my lower right area and it goes right thru to my back. After surgery the pain was gone but at 6 week's post op this new pain started. I can hardly stand it and am trying to figure out what it is. I don't want to go back to the Dr. My surgery was for cyst's and endometriosis. I'm using Vivelle Dot and natural cream progesterone. I wonder if the estrogen is flaring up some missed endo. Or is this adhesion's? grr....
