Pre-Op Infection! :(

Hi everyone-
I was diagnosed with endometritis on Thursday. Not comfy at all! This could be the cause for my unexplained pelvic pain, although I did not have any bleeding or discharge until about 4 weeks ago (have had pain for 5 1/2 yrs). Apparently this is common, and could have been dormant from a previous abdominal surgery. My doc is waiting for this to clear up, although the first round of antibiotics was unsuccessful. She then wants to do an endometrial biopsy. Have any of you had this done? If so, what was it like? There is also the possibilty of endometrial and/or ovarian cancer, so we will be looking into that also. I would love to hear any thoughts from anyone who has had any of the above. I am supposed to be going in 12/10, unless we find something that should be taken care of ASAP.
Thank you all so much,
Kelly

Pre-Op Infection! :(

I have had an endometrial biopsy. It isn't bad at all, just some slight cramping when the Dr. takes the samples. This was done in the office, and I went right back to work. Just had some mild spotting for the rest of that day.

Good luck to you!

Pre-Op Infection! :(

Hi, I had an internal ultrasound and endometrial biopsy October 19th and got the results November 2nd that I have complex hyperplasia with atypia and extensive surface papillary metaplasia. (still trying to figure out just what all that means....)

The biopsy wasn't too bad, but I spotted (again) about every day until a couple days ago. I had had a biopsy 4 or 5 years ago, and that was no big deal at all, but this one was different feeling, so I guess there really is something wrong this time...

My hysterectomy is tentatively scheduled for November 29th. The doc says 3-6 weeks recovery time, but I have been reading some posts here that say it usually takes longer to recover, so we'll see. (I have my cross-stitching projects all lined up, lol).

Pre-Op Infection! :(

Had a endo biop a couple of years ago and another last month, feels like a cramp, try to relax as its being done. ( I focus on a dot on the ceiling) Cramping a little that day (went grocery shopping on the way home) and light bleeding for a week. Went to work the next day. Hopefully my hist on Nov. 5th will be as uneventful.
