TAH: 6 days till my surgery and i'm sick!

I woke u with a very sore thraot this morning. i called the doctor and the only appt was the same time i had to go to work so i had to call off today. which was ok my work is good about me going in for this surgery. but anyway so i got to the doctors office and i have strep throat. WHAT NOW! She puts me on Zithromax being it's the fastest anitbiotic i'll be done on sunday my surgery is tuesday. my last day of work would have been fri but she informed me not to go in just to rest and take it easy. and she also said it will not interfer with the sugery. that being said should i call my gyn and tell him that i'm on an antibiotic? l'm just so nervous that my surgery will be cancelled. Hope you're feeling better soon! I'd definitely let your doc know. Mine asked what vitamins and herbal supplements I'm taking, so I'm sure they'd want to know about that.

Best to let them know all meds you're taking so there's no conflict with what they may want to give you in the hospital.

Thank you for everyone who replied! I just don't want anything to stop this from happening ya know! I've been in pain for to long and just want my life back! Endo was found 2 years ago but, heavy bleeding and pelvic pain for 10 years. and I'm 25 yo. Thanks for listening! I just love this site!

Aw, geez, strep throat!! Hope you feel better soon. I'd call the dr. just to be sure it's OK. He'll probably say it is and then you can stop worrying about the strep cancelling the surgery. Drink extra water to flush those germies out of your body and get some rest. Sorry you have to deal with this on top of everything else.

Thanks! I called the doctor today cuz yesterday was to late. And i just heard back from the nurse and she said it was just fine that i'm on the anitbiotic. So thats 1 less stress... so thank u everyone! and sending hugs to everyone who is getting close to their date! Wishing a fast recovery!
