i have a surgery date

hello ladies
well today my drs office called and now reality is finally startign to settle in ,,my date for surgery is set for MAY 23,2005.......he did not want to do it sooner,since iam going to DISNEY the end of april.so i ahve to go through two more dreaded cycles........and i found out i have to do PREP work the day and night before...which consists of clear liquid diet only then to make matters even worst,,i have to do 2 NOT 1 ,FLLET ENEMAS,,,

my quesstion is has anyone else here done this kind of prep,,,that iam a little nervouse about or scared or confused,lol..........hope to ehre the feedback ...........but so glad ot be getting rid of the MONSTER........

Fortunately I didn't have to do the prep, and I feel for you there. Right now, the waiting, is the worst part of the whole thing. You will be so glad when this is over. The surgery honestly wasn't that bad.

Have fun at Disney and pamper yourself. Before the surgery, I took time to buy little things I would need, looked for sales, etc. I bought movies, books, sweatpants, etc. so after the surgery I was all set.

If you have animals, get someone lined up to help feed and walk them, etc. Also, you may want to get a small tummy pillow (I got mine at Target) to hold over your tummy if you have to cough, sneeze, laugh hard, etc. It really helps.

Enjoy Disney I went there with my family many years ago and it was great.

Each pre op prep can vary quite a bit depending on the dr and type of hyst. I had no diet , other than nothing after midnight. I did have an enema and betadine douche - both administered at the hospital right before my surgery.

Disney is going to be so much fun!! I'm in the same boat as you - I put a hold on my TAH so I could do my Srping Break trip first. My surgery is 3/29 and I don't know what my pre-op will bring. From reading here, it seems that it varies from Dr to Dr and Hospital to Hospital.

Just remember you are not alone - you have lots of sisters waiting with you!!
