Tummy, does it ever go back to normal?

I think Im just having a few bad days.
But I wanted to ask, does your tummy ever go back to how it was b4 surgery? It was not flat by any means. I have had 2 kids but I look 6 mo preg. I know it will get better but how much better????

Can I hear from someone a few months post op and how the swelly belly is???

Tummy, does it ever go back to normal?

It will get better! We all heal differently. Mine now isn't so much swelly as it is "jelly" but much of this I think is because I never had tight abs to begin with. I am just noticing mine more because I never paid attention to it before! But, even mine is starting to feel like a regular ol' part of just being me again!

Tummy, does it ever go back to normal?

I am 7 to 8 weeks post op ad and it does start going down. As they said everyone heals diffrently. Some days it is more swollen than others, and by afternoon mine still seems to swell a little more. But it does go down.

Tummy, does it ever go back to normal?

I'm 11 weeks now and still look like I'm 6mos pregnant! Just the last two days it seemed to go down. I have an active job and by the end of the day it's pretty swelly. I am still wearing loose clothing and haven't even tried to zip up the jeans. I regret not getting the swelly belly band when I first heard of it; I thought it wouldn't last this long!! I wish someone had told me about this before. I thought I'd be slimmer after only eating liquids in the hospital and then not much for the first few weeks. Boy, was I in for a surprise, lol.
Just take it easy, lie down if you can, try ice if it helps and wait! Those are the things that have helped me so far. It seems that's how I'm gauging my recovery; by my belly size, lol.

Tummy, does it ever go back to normal?

I had my surgery five days after yours. I'm so glad you asked that question, cuz my belly is very swelly! Even though I'm starting to feel like I could get out and about for a while, my belly prevents me from being able to wear anything decent. I also thought I'd feel slimmer because of the liquid diet. I feel huge!

Tummy, does it ever go back to normal?

I am at eleven weeks; and the is still here; I have had to go with all new slacks for work - all elastic waist bands. By the end of the day, I look like I have been at the all you can eat buffet for hours.

The good news is that the swelling has gone down significantly. There is hope!

Tummy, does it ever go back to normal?

I dont know if my belly is swelly or becasue I cannot stop eating!! What is that all about? Could it be the hormone they gave me in the hospital...my boobs are huge...I feel like I went in the hospital to have a baby and came home without one! Does anyone know anything about this hormone stuff and weight gain?
I am thankful for this website...it has been a lifesaver!

Tummy, does it ever go back to normal?

Diva -

Your almost 2 weeks behind, I know we're all different, but I did go trying on pants this past week and for the 1st time since March, if they fit in the hips they were big in the waist.

I'm not saying the swelling is gone, its just better. That being said, except for that wild evening swell so many of us get, my belly was smaller 3 days post op than it had been pre-op.

Empire waists are in style. I just got a pretty wraparound dress with an empire waist that's comfortable. Elastic waist pants are great too.
