Re: Omg!! Today is a struggle to pee

I am also 2 weeks post op today and still self-cathing twice/day. Very frustrating and can get you down. I try to focus on "this is temporary" but I know what you mean. Sorry it's happening to you too. Reassuring though to hear I'm not the only one, you can really feel like the only one doing this sometimes. Yesterday they really wanted to put the Foley back in and I BEGGED for them not to. At least I feel a bit of control doing it this way.

Did you have a bladder repair or sling? Mine was a Transurethral Sling and I fear it may be too tight.

It was supposed to be a sling, but just ended up with them tacking(forget what's its called) it back up. So just a repair.
He does NOT want to put the Foley back and I don't want it either. I just hope he is right. He keeps saying trust me this is gonna.pass. lol
Guess we will just have to hang in there together!

Re: Omg!! Today is a struggle to pee

So sorry you ladies are having this trouble. I sure hope he is right!!!

I am not having as much trouble as you but I have difficulty peeing at times still almost 4 weeks out. It's completely inconsistent, sometimes morning, sometimes afternoon. sometime night.

I had a mid urethral sling. As long as there is no sign of UTI or other pain, we are waiting a few weeks to see about loosening it.
I am afraid if he loosens it it won't work...., I was leaking a lot before. But, I also don't want to have long term retention issues....

Both doc and fellow have said it can take 6-8 weeks to settle in.
