Exclamation - Why you need a nausea patch - what I wish I knew! Why you need a nausea patch - what I wish I knew!

Someone else on here mentioned asking your doctor for a Scopolamine patch to help with the nausea from the anathesia, which I decided not to do becuase this was my first major surgery and I didn't know what my reaction to general anathesia would be.

Well in hindsight I sure wish I had - I was vomiting non-stop all night after surgery until they gave me one of those patches, and throwing up was unbelievably excruciatingly painful!! AND, in the process I tore some internal stitches and my abdomen was full of blood. Not fun.

So even if you aren't sure if general anathesia will make you nauseous, I HIGHLY recommend being on the safe side and asking your doctor to place one of those patches behind your ear before you go under the knife!
