Finally scheduled!!

My doctors office called me this morning to schedule my hysterectomy. The soonest appointment they had was for September 7th. Which is forever away! But at least it is scheduled now and I can prepare.

I'm looking forward to this! I've been bleeding for almost three months now. It's so tiring. They have me in hormones to keep it at bay but I'm still having pain and bleeding. I can't wait for this to all be done with.

I want my life back!

Hi Chubbyangel -

I am so glad you finally have your date. I know September 7 sounds very far away, but it will be here before you know it.

Finally scheduled!!

My surgery is tomorrow. I scheduled it 6 weeks ago. It's hard to believe it's finally here and I've been so nervous and scared all this time, but for whatever reason I have a sense of calm that I can't explain. I've been on liquid diet and have been nesting all day. At this point, I'm thinking about coming home and my friends coming to see me and that makes me feel better.

Don't get artificially sweetened drinks. You will need the calories. Drink a lot of water a few days before so you don't feel dehydrated. Stay away from alcohol too because that will dry you out. Gatorade is a good thing for sure. Good luck sister.

Re: Finally scheduled!!

I'm glad you have a date set! If it makes you feel any better, I had to wait close to ten months to have my Hysterectomy. I first broached the topic with my new doctor in March of 2015. She said we would have to do an exploratory laparoscopy beforehand, which was scheduled for June 11th of last year. After I received a diagnosis of extensive Stage IV Endometriosis, I had to go on a six-month course of Lupron to attempt to shrink down the Endometriosis implants on my bowel to make surgery safer. I finally had my surgery on December 10th of 2015. Keep busy getting your house ready, buying items on your prep list, preparing freezer meals, etc. Your surgery date will be here before you know it!
