No follow up hysterectomy clinic!!!

My surgeon told me during consent for hysterectomy that he does not offer follow up appointments as routine. They are a waste of resources as usually 6 weeks women are mainly recovering. Well I need to see him and have to wait 8 weeks! I seem to have been thrown into peri menopause and have lots of questions. Why is everything such a struggle! Bloods FSH levels confirm I'm in range and even my GP frustrated she's 'dealing with this now. !

I don't have much advice, this sounds really unusual. I had to schedule a 6 week appointment before my surgery. And the office will see me for any issue if it comes up before my appointment. Maybe your GP can phone your surgeon's office to discuss your issues and prompt them to see you much sooner? Sounds like your GP wouldn't mind calling, and maybe would get better results professional to professional.

Thank you X I've contacted consultants secretary to say I really need an appointment. I'm awaiting a date. Should get a call tomorrow. Your idea about professional to professional sounds like a good route. Thanks xx
