What's to much to do

What is to much to do, and what can I be doing, I'm going crazy just sitting around and taking little walks. And also does anyone know when the steri strips will start to fall off?

What's to much to do

Well my steri strips didn't fall off until between 5 & 6 weeks with my hyst. With my lap 8 years ago they fell off at 15 days. I haven't fully explored the websight but you can do a search for your restrictions. I know that under for men (which is also for other family members) there will be places that will list your restrictions so you can easily point out to your family that no I am not allowed to run the vacuum for 6 weeks. DH wanted me to run it at 1 1/2 weeks and didn't believe that doc told me it was a no no. Just take it easy. Don't lift anything heavy or push. Try not to bend over. Leave stuff on the floor where it is. It will be fine there for a few weeks. Stay in your pj's for as long as you can. Once you start doing things most people stop helping you.

What's to much to do

My two weeks is tomorrow and I am very bored. I have been very careful and really lazy. I am waiting for that moment when I get up from the couch or bed and I don't have that pulling feeling - then I will try and walk further then the end of my driveway. I don't want any set backs at all so I read, watch t.v, rent movies and wait. I've seen on this site, the info from the ones that waited and how great they are doing and from those who say they pushed it and paid for it - take their comments to heart - but also - we need to go by how we are feeling - our strengths and abilities are all different. As for the steri strips, I didn't get any???? Once they took the staples out, that was it and I was a bit worried but my incision is healing nicely, I blow dry it twice a day and while I am in my bed, I let it air out. I also (as per my DR's instructions) us Hydrogen Peroxide on it twice a day. I am happy to say it is almost closed over, just a couple more spots - Good luck to you - Happy Recovery

What's to much to do

I was told not to do anything more strenuous than lift a mug of tea for the first 6 weeks! The thing to remember is that you've just had major surgery and the initial weeks of healing are absolutely vital ... you don't get them over again.

Patience is the key. Being 'good' now will pay dividends in the long run. So, rest, rest, rest and pamper! The time will fly by before you know it ...
