Silver Nitrate question

What I thought were sutures last week was actually granulation. So Dr painted silver nitrate over 2 spots inside my vagina yesterday. It is pretty tender and sore in there today.

So does anyone know just how raw that area is and should you hold off on sex a little bit. Would it burn DH after it has been in there a couple of days? I still have gray stuff coming out when I wipe. Did not think to ask Dr these questions. Any one know much about this stuff?

Silver Nitrate question

You'll have a grayish discharge for a few days after the silver nitrate treatment. I couldn't have sex for a week and had a follow-up appointment with my gyn to be sure the silver nitrate "did the job" on the granulation. After I had my first silver nitrate treatment, I went shopping in the mall for a couple of hours, and subsequently had to have a second silver nitrate treatment. I learned my lesson. After the second I went straight home and took it easy. You might want to call you gyn to see if he/she needs to do a follow-up.

Good luck to you!

silver nitrate

I have had 6 treatments with silver nitrate along with some kind of gold "cell" stuff that looked like glue over the last three weeks. My stiches were weeping and there was a hole where my body was rejecting the mesh. I am now at week 4 and my skin is granulating over the mesh and my stiches are healing. I was really scared. Do not use me as an example, because I went back to work after each treatment, (wasn't told not to), and I think if I had taken more time off I would have healed better.
I still have some discharge, and possibly a UTI.

Silver Nitrate question

My Dr did not mention taking it easy after. Luckily I just went to lunch and went home. He said to give it a few months before rechecking! I did not think sex would feel too hot right now! I think a week will help.

I hope this works the first time!!!

I have been having abdominal pain on my right side since September. My doctor has told me that he does not think it surgery related. It cannot be scar tissue because they line the abdominal wall so this can't happen. I am now seeing a pain specialist and he is giving me pain injections that so far has not worked. Has anyone else had this problem? It feels like a burning, pulling sensation - like someone is squeezing and twisting my skin. My side also hurts when I walk too much. I just want answers. My TAH was in July. I should be good as new by now. My regular doctor said it has to be scar tissue and my oncologist said there is no way it is scar tissue. What does that mean when the body is rejecting the mesh? What are the symptoms? Thanks for your help.
