Dr. recommended TAH & HRT.

I saw the new dr. today and he suggested a TAH for my pelvic pain/endometriosis.

He wants to do it abdominally so that he can look at and exam every nook and cranny and get every last bit of endo. out of there and he feels that there are limitations to the scope.

He said he would recommend estrogen afterwards.

I liked him. He seemed very nice, down to earth and he didn't make me feel at all like my pain was not 100% what it is. Real.

What do you think?

Hi,

It sounds like you have a very good dr who is caring and efficient.

Good idea to get all the endo out and have a clear view to do it.

Well, there's a lot to be said for the doc being able to physically examine every nook and cranny. Heaven knows you want to get ALL that endo tissue outta there! I had a thirteen inch abdominal incision, and while it took a while to heal, it really was not nearly as horrible as I feared it might be. The techniques have improved sooooooo much over even the past decade, it's likely to be worth your while in the long run to go with the TAH. That's my two cents' worth!
