Did anyone else take Zolodex shots?

I am having menopause symptoms from the shots and was wondering if you feel about the same after surgery.(no more shots! YEAH!!!) My LSH is coming up and I'm getting a little nervous about all of this HRT stuff!

I guess I'm the only one!

I had the Zolodex injections and the hot flashes from it. I am 3 and half weeks out from lavh and the hot flashes and night sweets are alot worse now. I take Effexor and that seems to help some. Also have insomnia since the operation. I hope that goes away soon, I need sleep!!! lol.

Thanks! I was hoping that the sudden menopause would be about the same as the chemical. I guess I need to do more research before Feb. 7th. That stinks!

I was on Tamoxifen for a few months and then had the Zoladex inj then the hyst and ooph. It may just be that I had alot going on at once. I dont regret doing it all. Are you able to take hormones? I'm not due to breast cancer. How were the flashes on Zoladex?

My hot flashes were pretty bad at first, so I tries Prempro. I was sick as a dog so I said forget that. I didn't start taking anything else(just lived with the flashes). Now, my night sweats and insomnia are the worst side effects. My hot flashes have gotten alot better. I'm having my ovaries out with my LSH and am worried it is going to get worse. I hope this isn't rude, but did you already have cancer or did you get it from the HRT? I am so sorry to ask, but I don't know alot about the effects of hormones.

i did the zoladex shots for 6 months before my surg. boy did they hurt!!! i did have a lot of hot flashes...and night sweats, but that was about it. after my surg i was put on estrace, but got hives from that so am going to have to try something else. haven't decided what yet. but my hot flashes are not as often or as "hot" as they were on the zoladex.

I hope I have the same result! I don't feel nearly as bad as I did after the first two shots. I'll be able to handle real menopause if it is like this!

Not rude at all.I had cancer. Thats why I chose the hyst and ooph. Im 40 and I dont want to get it back. I will never be able to hrt but I have fround Effexor works great for the night sweats and helps with anxiety.
