Been gathering info

Hello all.
I am new to this forum, but have been reading alot in the pre-op & post-op message boards to gather info. It's amazing what one can learn here! I have been diagnosed with fibroids & been dealing with pain, heavy periods, bloating, no energy, etc. for quite a few months now..... am sure many of you can relate. Have been trying to decide whether or not a Hyster. would be for me. After reading the many posts here, it has eased my fears & worries some. I have another DR appt. coming up soon & have decided to ask that I have one done. I know it's the only permanent solution to my problems. I am done with having children & have a very supportive family who will be very helpful (including my DH). Am still scared & worried, if anyone can ease my fears that I really have made the right decision it would sure help. I know no one that's had one, so am on my own on finding out the pre-op hints & the post-op suggestions. I guess I'm just looking for support.

After consulting with your Dr.,you must make the decision for yourself, as we all did too.

The best advice is to make a pro and con list . Then listen to your gut.

My periods with all they entailed were ruining my quality of life. I now have a freedom that I cherish.

We at hystersisters will support you no matter what you decide to do !!!!!!!!!!

Discuss all your options with your GYN. There's plenty to decide, even once you and your doctor decide the hyst is for you.
