5 1/2 weeks post op and CLEARED!

I had my post op appointment yesterday!

I was very nervous about what my doc was going to say! I had SUCH an easy time healing, that I was expecting something to be wrong!

He asked me a bunch of questions, and did an internal. He said that everything has healed very well, and all he could see was one small stitch left! I also asked him approximately how many stitches are used. I heard that there could be upward of 200 stitches internally! His jaw dropped! He said that HE NEVER comes close to that number! He told me that IF he uses 20, it's a lot! He proceeded to tell me that he uses a "running stitch" around the vaginal cuff. And even if he didn't, it might be an additional 20 stitches! So, take that for what you want!
I'm glad I didn't have that many! LOL!

I love my gyn!!!

He cleared me back to "normal" activities! I wanted to jump in the pool, but I came home from my appointment, and took a 3 hour nap! LOL! I'm not use to getting up and out by 7 AM! Hopefully today, if the rain holds off!

Since it was our 19th anniversary, I gave in....scared to death....feeling like it was my first time, all over again....and we had sex! It was gentle....VERY gentle! But everything worked! I even O'd!!! It was such a relief for me! Everything still works! And I believe it works even better than Presurgery! LOL!

I hope and pray that all you ladies who are having problems, have them resolved, and heal quickly and completely!

Happy Healing, Sisters!

Re: 5 1/2 weeks post op and CLEARED!

Congratulations! I am so happy for you!

My post-op appointment is on Friday (I am already at six weeks as of yesterday) and I am hoping to get the all clear too!

Yes, I too have heard (even from the nurses at the hospital) that there were hundreds of stitches, now I am going to have to ask too!

Happy anniversary BTW, what an awesome gift!!! I am also looking forward to being intimate with my husband again, it has been so long with nothing but pain during that I look forward to it being enjoyable again and your post gives me hope!

Congrats again!!!!

Re: 5 1/2 weeks post op and CLEARED!

Thanks, Tonya & Kim!
I think we all need to ask about our own personal internal workings...for lack of a better term! Maybe some of us HAVE had that many sutures, especially if there were repairs! Other than a major bladder adhesion, and a fibroid the size of a golf ball, I had no other issues! So I guess I should be thankful!

Happy Healing, Sisters!
