Ovary cyst discovered yesterday

Forgive me, I'm not sure where I'm supposed to post this, and I haven't been here in a long time.

I had my hysterectomy 2 years ago from this time, and I haven't been experiencing anything too major until I noticed some discomfort recently. Yesterday in the early morning I discovered a strange pain and I thought it might have been constipation because I couldn't go to the bathroom. So I called the dr on call and told him the pains I was experiencing and his recommend was to go to the emergency room and get tests done. For a while I wanted to see if it would go away, and i took a few tums and that seemed to settle it a little, but it was becoming clear that the pain wasn't going away and that I needed to go to ER. So a few hrs later I did.
Long story short the cause was a cyst on my right ovary. Here I thought all my troubles with such matters was done after getting my partial but I guess not. They said it was pretty large, and that I'm to call my gyn and get a follow up.
But anyone that can share experience with this is greatly appreciated. I'm not sure what to expect, the dr was saying that it may burst and go away on it's own but a burst could be very painful? surgery is the last resort to having it removed she said.... anyway
i'll stop writing... help!

any advice appreciated so much

Don't want to scare you but I had one that ruptured and began bleeding into itself. Took 3 weeks to discover and by then an emergency hysterectomy was required. Also needed 3 units of blood through a transfusion due to the internal bleeding and another 3 units after the op.. Cyst was 24cm when removed and I was in ICU for 4 nights as blood stream was severely infected due to cyst being infected.

All good now but pretty traumatic. I understand they can sometimes disappear on their own but not always the case.

Hope it all works out for you......

Re: Ovary cyst discovered yesterday

Wow sorry you went through such a traumatic experience. So then did you get the full hysterectomy then? Was this after you already had a partial?

I called my doctor to let them know what happened. So hopefully they'll be on alert.
I don't know, hopefully all will be okay, although I wish i would have known this could happen. as maybe I would have chosen my surgery differently.

I had never had any issues before this so no partial hysterectomy as never had a problem with my bits. Was pretty traumatic at the time as I had never considered these things before. Now on HRT but feel amazing. Glad it I'd all over now. Just working on reducing the look of the scar. Praying all is good for you. Xx
