Swollen Belly

Ive been reading some of your posts in readiness for op. Am I right in thinking whether you have keyhole or abdomol sugery your belly will balloon up as if you are pregnant? So loose clothes are the answer I see? Also how long is your belly swollen for?

yes i did Laparoscopic assisted total vaginal hysterectomy and doctor told me they blow my belly like i am 9 month pregnant. the swollen went down about in a week. its all depends how fast you can pass the gas and depends on your body also. it looked like i just gave a birth. after the surgery walk when you feel you have gas to move around the gas otherwise it will hurt you more than normal gas pain.

loose clothes are the best i am still wearing some rubber pants not jeans since i still do have some complication.

It's different for everyone. My belly was swollen the first couple of weeks from gas. Now my belly is pretty flat in the mornings but it gets larger as the day goes on. You definitely want loose fitting clothing.
