TAH 1 month post hysterectomy: has anyone had to deal with a stitch abscess?

I had my final post operative visit today and was told I have a stitch abcess on my incision line. Doctor said it's shallow and it should work its way out and she prescribed me an oral antibiotic. I would love some suggestions on how to help the stitch come out faster and to know if it's normal for a stitch to abcess.

I was curious what an abscess is so I Googled.
