bright red bleeding-day10

I have been doing pretty good, taking it easy, walking, and resting a lot. Very supportive hubby is getting anxious about when I will be doing more. I drove the car a short distance last night, as a test (he would like me to pick the kids up after school today, which is about four blocks from our house). I woke up this morning with some moderate bright red bleeding-strange since I really haven't had any bleeding since I left the castle.
Is this normal or am I trying to do too much? Thanks.

Hi jasmineT,

Some bleeding isn't abnormal along the way. As the stitches begin to dissolve and let loose you can have some. This is usually light. It is also possible that getting in and out of the car you stretched and pulled something a little bit. If you don't have pain with it, it's probably ok.
I didn't have any bleeding after the first couple of days either, except if I did something and usually knew what that was.
If it continues or is heavy at all, anything that resembles a period is too much, please call your dr and have it checked out.

's, Rita

I am 19 days post-op and started bleeding yesterday. I called the doctor and he told me that if I wasn't bleeding more than 1 pad/hour that I was OK. When the bleeding continued, I went in today to make sure that everything was OK and it was. I had a fluid pocket that had made its way out. He found one tiny area that was bleeding slightly and he stopped it.
I felt bad for being paranoid, but he told me that it was better to worry than not worry. Bleeding is normal, but I know what it is like to have someone tell you that you are OK. Call your doctor and talk to them. -- Amy
