Question about bloating

I am hearing a lot about bloating and fatigue. Is the bloating from having an enlarged uterus[mine is hugh], can't suck it in anymore. I'm so tired most days I have to take power nap, is that from the bloating has well, because I havn't had any abnormal bleeding just the 11 centimeter fibroid pushing on pelvic bone and bladder

Good questions.... Even though you haven't been bleeding alot, that fibroid is probably taking alot of blood. They can develop their own blood supply, so you could be fatigued from that.

I always felt bloated -- not in the sense of retaining water, but just like I had a basketball in my belly. Well, turned out my uterus wasn't QUITE as big as that (15x10x7 cm) but it was close. No wonder I was feeling tired and it was getting hard to breathe.

When you have fibroids and an enlarged uterus, the uterus pushes up against your lungs and other organs. Thus you're having to work harder to breathe and do everything else. So it makes sense that you'd be tired.

Today I went to put on a pair of pants I haven't worn in awhile, and I could not button them. I haven't gianed any weight so I think it's time to stop putting this surgery off. My stomach is so big I really feel pregnant.

I had the same experience, having to go up a pant size just to accomodate my pregnant looking belly! I even joined the gym in an attempt to shrink my middle but this only seems to have made the bleeding worse. No win situation really, just waiting for my op date now.

heychick... What's your diagnosis? Fibroids w/enlarge uterus? That's whats making me look so big... I'm also trying to pin down a date for my surgery. Keep me updated

Correct! One large fibroid size about 18weeks and growing, and a few smaller ones thrown in just for good measure! Surgery could be at least 6 months away so hope it doesnt get too much bigger while waiting.

I didn't have to go up a pant size before surgery (size 10) because most of my pants are low waist anyway. The few that were not, I had to stop wearing. The bloating was awful and my tummy hard. I couldn't even suck it in. I know that people thought that I was gaining weight and I really wasn't (maybe a couple of lbs most). I still have the swelly belly, but at least now I am not bloated and am starting to be able to suck my belly in again. Now, I will have that truck driver look. Belly hanging over belt. I just keep icing it and put on my clothes every day to see if they will fit in 3 wks. I watch very closely what I eat and drink water, water, water. I gave up the diet pepsi and coffee (for now anyway). I was so bloated before, I couldn't even exercise and felt like a really obessed person. Not that I am skinny. 145, 5'2 is my norm. I worry about gaining weight after this surgery.
