First check up 8 weeks post hysterectomy

I had a TAH/BSO on 2nd June and dont have my post op check up until 31st July. This seems the norm in the UK. I notice you all seem to have a check up within a couple of weeks. Will have to wait ages now to be ok'd to drive etc. Am signed off work until 5th September. Even my stitches were dissolvable so I didnt need to go and have them out.

Yeah that's interesting. I had one at 4 and one at 6 wks, then a 3 mo follow up and go in for one in 3 months, but it's my annual. I'm getting to know the nurses really well. but I do get alot of questions answered .

I am in Canada and my check up wasn't till 6 weeks. If there were problems, then go to the ER or GP to look at. I think 6 weeks is the norm here.

Where I am in uk you don't get seen for 6 months! Luckily I got seen at 10 weeks, only because I had a lot of Endo removed so it wasn't a straight forward hysterectony.

Apparently years ago the District Nurse used to come out to see that your wound was healing properly. Guess it is all to do with money nowadays as insurance companies dont pay for our care.
