Anyone else nauseous a week after surgery?

I had my LAVH/BSO on Oct. 14th and yesterday and today, I've had waves of nausea start in the afteroon both days. I'm also lightheaded. I'm pretty sure it may be an after effect of the anesthesia (I didn't do well with it). Just wondering if anyone else feels like this? It's not that bad, just annoying.

I had my TAH w BSO on 10/6 and I just started eating again on the 19th. I was very nauseated and very hungry all the time. My doc said it was likely the pain meds, the trauma to my body and possibly overdoing it when I got home.

Hang in there. It gets better I promise!

Before my surgery, I mentioned to the anesthesia folks that I had nausea in recovery after my breast surgery in June. She said that for GYN surg, she always added the "cocktail" for post surgical nausea because abdominal surg tends to cause nausea. I'm not sure about any basis in fact for her opinion, but I wasn't nauseus after surgery! Also, my GYN had prescribed an anti-nausea pill in addition to my pain meds for after I got home. I thought it was kind of odd, since I didn't ask for it, but figured that if I didn't need it, I just wouldn't take it. Fast-forward to after I got home, I had the worst nausea I've ever had! For about a week. Believe me, I was darn happy to have those pills! The good news is that it went away within a week or so. Just listen to your body, and be patient, it'll get better!

Ususally before any surgery I tell the dr that I get sick after with the anesthisa so everytime (except the first) they gave me an anti-nausea prescription of some sorts...If it is really bad see if your dr will give you something for it.
