So, yesterday I spent most of my day at my mother in law's funeral and services. We got in the car at 11:45 am and got home at 5:45 pm. So it was car rides, walking, sitting, eating, and lots of conversation and emotion. Yesterday, I got the worst gas pains ever, and my hubby went and got me Gas-X in the middle of our family restaurant meal. What an awesome hubby. It helped a little.

Today, I woke up with some pain, but SO tired. I ended up going up to my bed around 12:30 and about half an hour later I was zonked out for two hours. Then up for a little bit, and back to sleep for about 2-3 hours more. That was when dinner was ready. When I went down to eat, I ached all over, my hands hurt, and I was freezing cold. I felt like I was getting the flu or something, but I have felt that way before post-op so I ate dinner and then AWFUL gas pains again. Went to the bathroom and was able to have a BM, but the gas pains were terrible, even after. I took Gas-X and then some Ibuprofen as I was due for it. But my hands still ache two hours later and I am achy in general. I don't know if it's because of yesterday, because of sleeping so much today, or if it's normal post-op, but it's so uncomfortable.

When I called my DR yesterday for a refill on my Percocet, he said to make sure I am walking a lot and not in bed more than 2-3 hours per day. He said I need to be working on my breathing and should be out and about. REALLY? What I read from all of the women on here is so the opposite. I am so confused. My family was shocked I was walking yesterday instead of in a wheelchair at the funeral. I am confused about it. He said take a nap when I feel like it but I should be up and doing things to keep myself "active" and when I am "active" I feel like crap the next day. SO I am not sure what to think anymore.

at 10 days watch for infection the thought of you feeling hot then cold only brings me back to this past week when i had a fever and was infected. it was horrible so much pain and felt like ****.

Re: 10 days post op--help!

I think we should removed a couple organs from him and repair a hernia. Those doctors are the ones that I would personally like to do the surgery for myself. Sorry my aggressive side sometimes kicks in. I personally have overdone it a couple times and it take a few days for recovery. I can only speak of the LAVH surgery so the hernia surgery is in addition to that. Do what feels right for you. Rest for few days and when you feel renewed then start back slowly. Aside from the physical pain an recovery you are also recovering double mentally. I would gladly give your doctor a piece of my mind. Rest and do what's best for you.
