Do you tell your Dr. you're getting a second opinion?

I was so upset with my doctor for a myriad of reasons - what she wanted to do to me for my problem, processes in her office, how she communicated with her patients, her inability to get an adequate specimen for my endometrial biopsy (that she wanted to repeat!) - that I didn't tell her I was going for a 2nd opinion. When I went to the 2nd doctor, he was like UKSister's doc - he talked to me in his office for 45 mins before he even examined me. He knew how upset I was by my first doctor (because like a big baby I got teary-eyed trying to tell him what happened with her), that he told me he would take care of getting my ultrasound results from her. I think it just depends on what your relationship is like with your doc - mine had gone down the toilet so I just didn't want her involved in making any decisions about my healthcare anymore.

Wow, I don't blame you. I'm so glad you found a better doctor. I think that my current doctor is good but I don't think she does any of the newer types of surgeries but I could be wrong. Won't know til I go back to talk to her. But regardless I still want more than one opinion.
