One week post hysterectomy: Possible Virus, and bleeding haematoma

Hi all. I live in Singapore now, but my sister in my hometown Seattle introduced me to the hystersister site. Been reading posts and it's so wonderful to be able to read about others also recovering!!!! Thank you hystersisters!

I am doing ok after a traditional bikini cut hyster (leaving only ovaries in). but suddenly developed low fever -today, 7 days out from surgery.
- my son has a higher fever as well, so I am guessing it's a virus (although I will see my doctor tomorrow morning). Any others get virus at this point? The only other thing that is bothering me is a haematoma (blood clot) that has been seeping out. My doc tried to get some of it out by gently pushing at it, but finally has bandaged me (with a lot of gauze added) and tells me that it will probably stop by itself. If not, he will do some extra stitching. Has anyone else had that happen? Thank you! May

Re: One week post hysterectomy: Possible Virus, and bleeding haematoma

I caught a cold 12 days out and it was horrible.... All that coughing really hurt the incision... I also had a low grade fever for 4 days, highest being 100 degrees f. I didn't have a hematoma at all, but maybe a sister will come along and add something..
