how long do we have too take pills

ive stopped the pain killers 4 weeks post op but still take diclofenac or voltaral as they are called but think may causing consipation cant get in touch with dr so dont know how i must keep on taking them anyone had these tablets

I was given only pain killers for about a week, and I have been on nothing since. I have not even heard of diclofenac.

I took pain meds for about two weeks, but had it seemed one problem after another. To which I would revert back into taking them as needed. The constipation became a serious issue for me. I started taking metamucil at least once a day to keep things moving but still had issues. I am now in dealing with pain from adheasions and will be going in for them on the 23rd. I have discovered that dried apricots seem to work best for me. There have also been ladies who have talked about prunes and prune juice. I am trying to stick with the natural things as I now have a log for all the meds I have to take. Good luck to you dear!

Just looked it up for you sweetie and it is an anti-inflammatory drug. It can cause constipation. My surgery was the day before yours. Also if you just recently stopped taking those pain killers they may take a while to get out of your system. Those are what caused the problem with my constipation. Keep in mind that all anti-inflammatory drugs are blood thinners so dont take any type of asprin. There is a website called www(dot)drugdigest(dot)org I love it because you can reference all of your meds together to see if there are any side effects togetther. My husband takes Lipitor and can not drink grapfruit juice. Who would of thought. It is not always on the side of the bottle. You can also reference different vitamins and hrebal vitamins with it. Not everything is compatible.
