sumer

I'm 2 1/2 years post-op and am still numb in places. I was told it can take up to a year for the nerves to repair themselves, if at all. It still feels odd ~ not tender exactly ~ but strange, but isn't something I think about until seeing a post like this.

Have you had a word with your doctor about the depression? It may, or may not be, hormonal but, either way, your doctor should be able to help. I hope some ladies will be along shortly who can relate.

I hope you're feeling better, very soon. Take care!

belly tenderness 11 months out???

My stomach still feels really strange. It's numb in places. In other spots, especially just to the left of my navel about 2 inches down, once in a while it feels like it's burning. I was told that's where a large nerve is.

Also, I use to have a somewhat flat stomach and since the surgery it still feels swollen, at times, more so towards the end of the day. I keep telling my husband it feels like they left a sponge in there from the surgery, and not a small sponge either!

Sumer,

I also have the numbness at my incision, it has been 4 mos since my surgery. My dr. said it may take up to a year. It feels very odd, numb in places and tickles in others.

As far as the depressed feeling, are you taking any progesterone? I felt like that as well. I want to kill someone the first minute and crying the next minute that I wanted to kill someone. Then the feelings of just wanting to stay in bed and not get out (hide from the world). I also had feelings of worthlessness because I couldn't do normal activites. I went to a nutrition store and got some progesterone, once I started it, the feelings went away (for the most part). Still have them once in awhile but not like before.

It will get better it just takes time.

Dear Sumer,
Yes I am still numb in places and I am a year out. Mostly my ride side cause that is where the dr did most of her digging. Oh man and then if I accidently hit the front area.....................pain is there. Yes I understand the nerve thing but still a long process is awaiting us. Yes I too am having low points, not sure I will come out smelling like a rose anymore. Very depressing for me. I am not myself at all. well talk to your doc and maybe use a heating pad on low might help. But ask dr. Here's a hug Good luck
