5 weeks post op
Today is my 5th week post op. Last week was my 4 week post op check up. All is well! No sex till 6th week but I can swim and take baths! I feel so much better than I did before the surgery. I no longer have this heavy alien feeling in my belly. I had a lot of fibroids. I also don't have this constant urge to pee and no more constipation!! YEAH!!
I am a little scared of the sex, but my DH has been informed to take it easy in the beginning and he understands that completely!
I kept the ovaries so I haven't had any hormonal problems. Actually, since the fibroids are gone I think the PMS might have gotten better. I wonder if this is possible?
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well too.
Have a Blessed day!
Linda

Linda , congrats on your recovery! i have my six week check-up next week. dh is already talking about "doing the deed " but i don't think my dr will allow that yet due to all the repairs. But it certainly is wonderful when you start feeling better! Everything seems "new" again. Now I can't wait for fall- as it's my favorite time and I hope to feel almost 100% by then.

I'm so glad you feel better! My PMS doesn't seem as bad either. Maybe my ovaries are still out of whack. This TAH has made a vast improvement in my life. Hope you continue to have a smooth recovery!

If you have your ovaries still you will ovulate and get still have the hormone surges that come with pre-menstral times. I intend to keep track still just so I know when I will be moody!!

I had the same question. After reading some other posts, it was kind of depressing to hear of ladies still having cramps. I have had MAJOR cramps most of my life and was looking forward to no more of them. I'm still hoping they won't be as bad though.

Yes - I kept my ovaries & cervix. My worst problem was super heavy bleeding every month - so I guess I am lucky that will be gone. I just thought I would be done with the whole thing. darn!
