I just wanted to thank you again. My doc told me that the nightmares are a side effect of the pain meds I was on in combination with the overall stress my body is under. Last nights dreams were not 'good', but not nightmares either. So maybe it's finally going to end. Still only sleeping 2 hours at a time. But at least that's sleeping! How are you feeling? Better I hope. I have not figures out the easy way around this site, is there a "friend" tule thing (I've never been on social media sites, so I'm bluffing I know what that means) anyhow, I would enjoy speaking/writing more with you. Thanks again. Good luck and happy holidays!

Re: insomnia & nightmares

Hi sweetie,

I have been having nightmares since surgery. I mentioned it to my Dh only the other day. Im still taking Tylenol 3, and sometimes Codiene will give you nightmares. I am also, still sleeping on my back, cant get comfy on my side, so that is also not helping. I have been taking a sleeping tablet now, and that knocks me out to morning. I plan on taking them until I can sleep on my side again. Hope it helps. xox

Re: insomnia & nightmares

I had nightmares for several days after my surgery. I thought it was because of the drugs they sent through my body, like the morphine. The bad dreams did stop after a while, thankfully.
I wrote them down, one was actually pretty funny:
*Riding my bicycle in my nightgown, and I am still attached to the drip stand, so had to drag that along with one hand.. and to make it worse, I was cycling over cobblestones!*
Anyway.. I am still not sleeping well (had my surgery end of September), but the nightmares are long gone.
