Bloated and abdominal/back pain

I am scheduled for a LVH and bladder repain on Jan 28th. I have been diagnosed with a 5-6cm left ovarian cyst, and some other smaller cysts. I am 52, and still have my periods. They are painful, with heavy bleeding. The bleeding has changed in the past few months( since be diagnosed) more clots and more pain. Right now I feel so bloated! The pain is on my left side radiating to my back to the right. Is this normal? Does this mean the cysts are growing?? Sometimes the pain intensifies when I trun sharply to the left or right., ot if I bend over to that side. I have my pre-op visit on the 20th. and am starting a list of questions. Partly in thanks to this forum.

If anyone can tell me of how they felt prior to surgery would be much appreciated.

Alice, I am having bloating and pain also. I had to buy some bigger jeans because mine cause me pain with the bloating. I look pregnant again! My back pain is worst in the morning if I sleep on my back. I have also been diagnosed with cysts and had one rupture back in November. I don't know what the pain increase means, I will be watching your post to see if you get any advice. Good luck at your pre-op and sending hugs to you!

I also had a 5-6 cm cyst on my left ovary and a whole bunch of them (smaller) in my uterus. felt very bloated and very uncomfortable, I had to be taking motrin to aleviate the pain and the bloating. a heating pad helped sometimes.
I pray you girls dont have to suffer much longer so you can get started on a whole, new, and wonderful new life

I was bloated, constipated, gassy and had abd. and back pain before my hysterectomy. The ablation I had the year before my surgery helped slow the bleeding a bit, but didn't help the pain--which actually got worse! I had ovarian cysts and fibroids (seen on ultrasound), and after the surgery, found out I had endometriosis and adenomyosis.
I have not had any of that pain since surgery--just the post op pain, which is getting better every day.
