swelly jelly belly

hello hystersisters
can anyone tell me when i will lose these awful love handles and my horrid swollen jelly belly, i cant get my jeans on im 5 weeks post op and ive read on here that lots of women are able to get back into their clothes at this stage, but i cant, i look awful and its so depressing

I am nine weeks post op and still getting the swelly belly. Like you it is depressing as nothing I would normally wear fits and I miss my jeans too. I was told that this could last months and is an indication that I could be doing too much!

Know this is probably not what you want to hear but wanted you to know you are not alone with the whole swelly belly.

im still tender to touch and my swelling looks hideous, i look like ive got a kangaroo pouch, i wish id never had this op, ive gained 10 lbs in weight also all around my middle and my shoulders, im tired, i cant wear elasticated trousers for too long as they start to hurt, and my bra hurts at the rib cage, i feel as tho im never gonna get back to normality, and i cant go to work yet i dont feel fit enough

I am with you on this, I found that if I bought elasticated trousers one size bigger than I needed these fitted me without hurting too much. As for the kangaroo pouch today is the first day in nine weeks that someone has been able to say you dont look as swollen today as normal but I described myself as a pregnant hippo to someone as that is how I feel.

Dont even attempt to go back to work before you feel ready, I felt ready but did agree to only go part time and am on my third week of part time and it is draining, I am emotionally and physically tired by the end of the day.

We will get back to normality it is just going to takke time
