I'm 8 days post hysterectomy! UTI (updated)

Well it's 8 days post op so glad it's over. Pain pills for the first 3 days. My problem is a UTI . I had it when I went into surgery & my doc promised to give antibiotics. Forgotten ! I'm miserable! Pain & UTI meds.
I had this surgery so I would not be peeing constantly . So here I am peeing constantly !

Re: I'm 8 days post op !

Sorry = hang in there. Things will get better. While on the antibiotic be sure to take probiotics to keep you gut flora from being destroyed and also cut down the chances of a yeast infection.

10 days Post OP UTI FINALLY UNDER CONTROL

Well 7 out of the last 10 days I was miserable! Apparently I am resistant to ciproflaxin. So Friday I started a new drug which has finally given me relief! Let's see I had this surgery so I wouldn't pee so much and I have constantly since 5 days after the surgery.
The incisions are itchy. I've been off the oxy drug after only 3 days.... I hated how it made me feel !
I'm napping constantly........ Why are we so exhausted ? I had the davinci & I was told it was very minute blood loss.
Thanks for posting it helps ......I'm sore more than in pain !

Re: 10 days Post OP UTI FINALLY UNDER CONTROL

Glad to hear the uti is finally under control.
Remember it is major surgery, (it takes a lot out of you, no matter what method you had done) and you have a lot of healing to do.
When you feel tired, your brain is trying to tell you it wants to do some healing. We do our best healing in our sleep.
It takes a good 6-8 weeks for initial healing inside so be patient.
And having a uti takes a lot out of you also.
Be sure to get a good multivitamin to help your body heal.
Take care
