Thanks so much Miss Mish

Wow, you have really given me a good overview of what to expect, epecially moving from the recovery to the bed. I can tolerate the IV thing..had so many. But I am also a good moaner! I know I will be moaning in recovery ...

My guy will be there. No worries. He is just so easy going and laid back. My mother is a retired operating room nurse so she will hold HIS hand LOL..

My work has been so supportive and I could not be so calm without them.

Thanks again for your reassurance. I will be back on when I am home!

Cheers

Aaack - surgery tomorrow

If you do end up going in alone...you are not alone. I will be too. My husband has a horrid fear of hospitals, needles, and doctors. I guess he thinks since I have had so many surgeries that I am stronger than I am. I even had to have a neighbor drive me to my last one and stayed in post op until he was off work....how embarassing.

They way I figure it if I force him to go he is going to be a turd the whole time and if I am nervous then I will probably end up fighting with him and on top of everything else I know i do not need that. He should hit the hospital about the time I get in a room. From then on though I am going to put my foot down because I have 0 faith in the nurses at this hospital and he knows what I have been through there.

I too wish things were different but they aren't. To go back on an old saying "You can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear" So basically the only thing saving him right now is that he is donating blood for my surgery.

Hey - I just got home from the castle, and I'm glad to report that all went well. Hope it will for you, too!!!

The nurses were all very sweet, and helpful. I don't remember much about the first 12 hours postop, but got up and moving after that!
