I don't think that you can get it over the counter. Hopefully your pre-op staff will know about it.

that patch is probably the same one they give people for sea sickness. I am going to ask for it for my surgery too. (I get sooo sick from the anes.) Good luck! Raymo

Hi ladies,
Another good drug that they can give you is Zofran. I was sooooo sick after my lap in '95, I told the anethesiologist about it and they gave me Zofran for my 2 d&C's and my last lap in Dec. I never got even the least bit nauseous. So don't turn that one down either!

I am having an LSH too, and I am feeling so good about all the good reports. It is so nice that some of us can have this option. I have spent so much of the past year recovering from one health crisis to the next this sounds like a snap!

Hi. Its called Tansderm SQ. It is a scopolamine patch. They use those a lot for anethesia as well as cruise travellers. No, its not over the counter, but your Doc should be happy to get this for you as it proactive(prevents nausea from starting) and much cheaper than Zofran or Kytril. Actually this is a wonderful idea and I will be asking my surgeon about it instead of Zofran. Thank you for the idea! Good luck to you! Cindy
