Weight Gain??
Do you have weight gain after your hysterectomy? I'm keeping my ovaries so I won't be pushed into menopause early. (I'm only 36).
Also, what is TAH?
Thanks
Travey

Weight Gain??
I was able to keep my ovaries also. I wasnt in what you call great shape to began with. I needed to lose before. I have found for me it is not that I gained weight but it seems harder to get off now what should have gone before.
You will have the swelly belly for prob 4 to 5 weeks and then it begans to go down.
good luck

Weight Gain??
Travey,
I'll answer your last question first, a TAH is a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy (that's what I had). I also kept one ovary. As far as the weight gain goes, everyone is different, for every person that gained weight, you will find one who lost weight and one who's weight stayed the same. I was one who's weight didn't vary more than 1-2 pounds in the 8 weeks since my surgery. You just can't predict how your body is going to respond. Sorry this doesn't answer you question, but it does show that everyone is different, and all these differents are normal.

Weight Gain??
Hiya
I lost about 10 lbs in the first two weeks post surgery...I had an SAH (supracervical, or subtotal, abdominal hysterectomy). Those 10 lbs have stayed off actually, and I've lost a bit more.
I think I lost the weight in part because of my restricted diet..jello and clear broth for 7 days (plus the eversodelightful nasogastric tube) will do that!
Hope you feel better soon.
Blessings,
Tess
