Checking in - 15 wks post op

Haven't visited here in many wks; I lived on this site when I was closer to my TAH. Just wanted to check in and give a recovery report.

My 15wks have just flown by! I think it's true, 12 wks is the "feeling better" period. I feel better each week and definitely have more energy than I did pre-op. My incision healed up sooo fast and now it is completely invisible (9 inch horizontal). I had no staples, just tape. I still feel a bit of swelly belly, some days more than others. And I do feel some inner twinges when I lay down and get up out of bed still. Don't know how long until that goes away.

I have to admit, there are times now I FORGET I had a TAH. Seems so far in the past now. I still get some PMS because I kept my ovaries(irritability/achiness/constipation) and I still catch myself checking to see if I've spotted. Ha, will we ever completely trust that it's over and done with? But all in all, I feel pretty darn good and life has gone on. I never experienced a weepy moment, or any depression at all. To me it was just another speedbump to get over and now I'm on the other side. Good luck to all of you, soon it will only be a distant memory and even a faint one at that.
