Pain- is it a UTI??

I had my Hyster 7/1/13, I am now 16 days out and I feel so much better, with the exception of some pretty intense pain when I urinate.
I've always been lucky and never really gotten a UTI as an adult, I remember as a child having one and it burned.
This does not burn, but inside behind my bikini cut, it hurts (kinda of throbbing pain) and then when I pee it feels as if there is more in there and that causes more pain.
Is this a sign of a UTI, or just regular healing/hyster pain?
My gyn is on vacation this week, should I just go to my GP or put a call in to my gyn?

Any Advice?

Thanks
Amrayne

Re: Pain- is it a UTI??

When I have one of my many UTI's it usually burns where the urine comes out - not higher. Did they do anything extra to your bladder e.g. endo removal??? It could be your bladder spasming...

If you are still feeling full (and I have no idea why it works but did for me) take a drinking straw in with you and blow out of it. I spent an extra night in the hospital because my bladder shut down after surgery and that worked for me.

Your GP could definitely run a urine culture for you and unless your surgeon's office is shut down due to vacation, you could talk to their nurse and they could run a culture for you as well.

Best wishes to you!!!

Re: Pain- is it a UTI??

Thanks! Went to Dr., have a bladder infection. Waiting on antibiotics now. Trip to Dr then pharmacy has worn me out! They did do a cystoscopy during my hysterectomy, maybe that's why? Not sure but can't wait to be feeling better!
