TVH major infection, discovery of gallstones, what next?

i had a total vag hyst on 3/30. I was home about a week and a half the whole time i was in horrible pain level never went below a 7. On 4/9 i ended up back in the hospital with a MAJOR infection/abcess in my surgical sight. My white blood count was 31 after a few days dropped to 15 the next day jumped back up to 26 and today is down to 15 again. Cat scans show no change in my abdomen or the abcess after 8 days but coincedentally shows i now have gallstones. I still cant go a full day without pain meds and now am having problems urinating, it is extremely hard and painful. The doc just seems to be treating me like he's stabbing in the dark and doesnt really know what else to do. Has anyone else had a similar experience or any advice on what i can do? I am so frustrated and tired of being sick!

I returned home from an Infection/abcess too 7 days after my surgery. (it was in the Surgery area) I had horrible stabbing pains and Fever. My doctor found it with the cat scan. when i went to see her the fever was gone. but she could tell something was wrong because my rapid heartbeat. She sent me to the ER Room.

I saw a "Infection Decease Doc" in the hospital. I got Two Super powerful antibiotics one once a day and another twice a day in the IV. Spend two nights in the hospital, have to see Doc for follow up in a week and a half.

It was So scary. I just got back home to heal. I hope everything goes well with you.

I get 2 powerful antibiotics by iv and have been for 8 days now with not much improvement. I had attempted to contact my doc office after surgery every day for a week before i ended up in the hospital but that just blew me off. Thank u for ur response. Only you might have a urinary tract infection. I had one when I left the hospital and didn't realize it until about five days later when I started having significant discomfort when I peed. You need to get your urine cultured and on antibiotics as soon as you can if you do have one. I wish you the best and hope you start feeling better soon.
