2 months post surgery and still feel bad

Hey all, I wanted to let you know how I am doing. I am at my 2 month post op, and needless to say I am still relying on the percocet. I returned back to work after 8 wks off and am in pain all day and when I come home I am on the couch and can't do anything. I made an appointment with the doc as they said I shouldn't be still hurting this way. My husband and I are refraining from sex as the doc suggests since each time we have attempted it, it hurts during and afterwards. I am so aggrivated about it all. I really thought I would be feeling alot better by now. Doc seemed concerned so I am going in next week for another exam. Is anyone else going thru this too at this stage in the game? I just want to feel normal again. I am now worried that I may have either an infection or may not be healing properly. So I guess you could say I am a bit depressed at the moment.

Re: 2 months post surgery and still feel bad

The pain during could be because granularization, also I found that I had muscle triggers in my pelvic floor muscle at the entrance to the vagina and in my vagain. I'm in pelvic floor rehab and having physical therapy exercises and massage internally and externally for the muscle triggers. It has been helping. You may want to ask your doctor about some rehab.

((catwomaninky))

I am sorry that you are still having pain!

Some of us do take a bit longer to heal. I know it is not fun at all! I got so tire of the doctor's office after my surgery!

I hope your doctor is able to find a solution for your pain soon! in there!

Re: 2 months post surgery and still feel bad

Yes, it can take that long to heal and longer. I don't know if you have ovaries, are on HRT etc. However, one thing that caused me pain was that I had severe vaginal dryness. It kept feeling like I wasn't healed inside. Finally, I went on Vagifem which only delivers a small amount of estradiol to the vagina. If you are not familiar with this it is a pill that you insert twice a week...very easy...helped immensely! It made the pain with intercourse go away. Also, OTC lubricants like Astroglide and KY long lasting prefilled tubes. I actually use a combo of all three. Even if you are on HRT, you may not get enough estrogen to your vaginal tissues without a vaginal cream or pill. Just a thought. Also, don't be hard on yourself...this is a major surgery and everyone is different in the time frame for healing. Best wishes.

Re: 2 months post surgery and still feel bad

Forgot to add in my previous post that if your tissues are dried due to lack of estrogen, you get the very pain you are describing. Before my own experience with this I thought vaginal dryness just meant lack of lubrication but even if you have enough of that during intercourse that doesn't mean you don't have a dryness issue.
