Upset stomach from fibroids??

Hey Hystersisters. All I can say it is now going on 4 weeks after my TAH & I have not had an upset stomache of any kind. I haven't took Alleve-NAS since 2-11 when I was put in hospital for Blood Transfusion due to Bleeding Fibroids. Emergency TAH 2-25. 2 years in pain. I had to get 4 pints of bloods. I was told over the last 2 years the Alleve etc was making the lining of my stomache bleed as well. It was rough. Now I only take tylenol es & 1 last all day.

I have been on Prevacid too. Had stomach problems for a long time. I always get this burning feeling in the pit of my stomach, like gut rot kinda....it gets so bad sometimes i throw up from it. I went to my family doc and he suspected an ulcer...I never thought that it could be caused from this fibroid. Interesting

You're right about avoiding greasy foods and coffee. I found that out the hard way. :-)

I'm still new to all this but had a question...I have a 12 cm cyst on my right ovary...is that a fibroid? My doctor never used that terminology to describe it. I too suffer with a lot of stomache issues, heartburn, diarhea and horrible pain and pressure. I hope when the surgery is finally over it will all be a thing of the past. Not sure I even know what it's like to be pain free anymore.

I know what you mean about not knowing what pain free is like. In the last month, I've realized that everyday something is wrong with my stomach...pain, cramping, nausea, upset...always something.

A cyst is not the same thing as a fibroid. I don't know anything about cysts. But make a new thread and label it Information about Cysts. Hopefully someone will have more information for you.

I have had problems with nausea, bloating, etc. for a few years. I also have had diagnosis of GERD and have tried prescription drugs for that. A long time ago I had a scope procedure to diagnose the stomach pain and gerd and the doctor diagnosed me with not being able to fit into my wedding dress ( and believe me, he wasn't fitting into his wedding clothes either). After all that, and that was his diagnosis.

I know I have had fibroids for a long time. As they have gotten bigger and my uterus has grown (16 week now) I have had more and more heartburn, nausea, vomiting and sharp pain in my stomach and right under my ribcage. My gyn finally believes that the fibroids are causing a lot of this as well as hormonal problems which also cause me daily bleeding. I too am hoping the surgery will go a long way to settle some of these problems and then I can work on getting back into that wedding dress (as if).
