Bladder sling ...

Hi girls
I was told by my (old useless) gynacologist last year that I had an irratable bladder along with my prolapsed uterus... Things have changed since then as I changed gynacologist and finally got booked in for a LAVH that he agreed with me that I needed! However when I went for my first appointment with him (31st jan) he couldn't find my recent notes so didn't know about the bladder issue. I was sent it bladder tests last year and that is how it was diagnosed! Well an hour of tests lol. Anyway after reading up and wondering f it is my uterus pushing on bladder also and causin me to wee constantly and have little hick ups sometimes. I have been reading about the bladder sling and am wondering if this would benefit me ... However am nt in to see doc now till march 27th , week before operation. Do you think it would be worth me mentioning it to him and hopefully he will have my recent notes there and will see I've already had the tests done etc . Don't want to mention it and have him agree , only to put off my surgery coz he wants to run tests ... Or maybe am being daft and it wouldn't benefit me at all? Who knows ...

Re: Bladder sling ...

I had a sling during my LAVH Dec 27th mainly due to incontiance and bladder irritation. I was leaning towards going to a uro dr because I was convinced I had IC. After the sling it's better. No more incont but I do still have some bladder pains now and then. I had a lot of scar tissue and adhesions too

Yes am thinking they are going to find adhesions when they do my LAVH from previous abdominal surgeries ... Is it my right to ask the doc for one if I think it will help? Will obviously ask his advice

Re: Bladder sling ...

I'd ask him what his opinion is on it for sure. But make sure he knows about the bladder problems you've been having
