I would like to know also

I have been watching you post to see if anybody answered because I would like to know also. I have done some research myself on google and ask.com however it isn't easy to find in regard to a hyst. I have been having pain since week 2 or recovery and it is now 3-1/2 months later the surgeon keeps examing me and sees nothing wrong. I am having a cat scan tomorrow because I keep getting pain when sitting inside my vaginal cuff area into my left buttocks like somebody is poking me. The pain comes and goes and it is very frustrating. I have tried to send a thread a few times to anybody else experiencing this and have looked into the fistulas. Please respond to let me know what you have found out and what pain you are feeling. Thanks and good luck

Ruptures?

Hi Sue Ellen,
Had my first CT with contrast 1Mo PO for the continuos pain. My surgeon also said 'it was nothing'...I had another test w/ iodine to check the ureters, everything OK there. A Pain specialist encouraged me to check it out further also. I requested a 2nd opinion from another Dr. and had a 2nd CT with contrast on 12/11. The radiologist DX is a colo-vaginal rupture or fistula. He compared these films with the first CT films and the 'opening' showed up on the 1st CT 1 MO PO). Another Radiologist confirmed the DX. I am also having a sit down with another Radiologist next week to SEE exactly where the opening is on my films. The next decision will be made after I see that Dr. I had to take responsibility for this myself as I was being given the 'brush off' and run around from most of the drs.

The pain has been ongoing since 'recovery'=since day one right after surgery actually(June 26)...it never got better and the pain has now actually spread from the lower left side across my pubic bone to the right side.
It has always been present: sharp stabbing throbbing aching burning. Worsens after sitting on my bottom or standing on my feet (like I do at work).
Advil does nothing for it. Hydrocodone does NOT take it away.
My daughter is getting married on Feb 3rd so I cannot do anything major until after...I am walking her down the isle and am so excited for her.
Thank you Sue Ellen for responding and I hope you find a DX soon also. I feel for you!! I will pray for you.
Thank you ALL, every woman who may read these posts and have an encouragement or similar story and/or pray for us.
God Bless you,
Cindee :-)

(((cmarie3)))

I'm sorry you're dealing with a fistula. If you do a search on this site for "fistula" and "colovaginal fistula" you will find some threads about this condition.

I hope you get a good treatment plan and relief soon.

!st cat san for pain

I just came back from having a catscan with and without contrast, iodine, drank 2 bottles of liquid and stomach, pelvic and lungs were done. I should get the results within 48 hours. I do have pain after sitting and standing but the pain varies and dissapears always to reappear. I will keep you posted. Thanks for writing back to let me know how you are following up. I still don't know where the pain and discomfort comes from. Please keep me posted.
Good luck and enjoy the wedding and congrats to your family.

Ruptures?

Hi girls,
Had a consult with a radiologist on Wednesday and he pointed out the fistula on my CT fims. He recommends another CTw/wo contrast using barium ! fun! That is the next step...but I have to wait until after my daughters wedding Feb 3.
The pain has increased on my lower left side and now spreads to the right across the top of my pubic bone. It is really exacerbated after any physical activity. Really hate that this happened when the hyst was to help me get better, Six months of pain. I need something stronger than hydrocodone to sleep. Has hampered me with helping my daughter with wedding plans etc...
Thanks for listening again...
Love you all,
Blessings,
Cindee

Still waiting not sure

It has been one screw up after another to get my results starting from the radiologist not transcribing correct info to the surgeon not getting back to me yet and it has nowa been 8 days. The surgeon's secretary read my result to me this AM nothing is wrong and I had a copy of the correct results faxed to me so I was looking at them, I asked her questions and she didn't know she told me since Tues(it is now Fri.) she would have the dr. call me or the PA nobody has called and I am still in pain with no answers and honkerblonked off. Now they are on service at 10:55 am and I can't get thru. I will put a call into the office manager and the main Dr. of the group. It is very frustrating and I am not able to go on Roadless traveled until 6 months. I needed to vent. When I have some news I'll let you know. THis wedsite is where I get some of my sanity, it's great

Ruptures?

Sue~your story AND frustration sound just like mine. I know exactly what your going through.
Have you asked for copies of all your med records to date?
You can ask for a phone consult with the radiologist and a sit down with a radiologist to go over your films together.
AND you can request the test be done again, at the same place, by the same Radiologist or another OR another location all together.
