Fleet Bowel Prep Kit #1
Morning Ladies,
I am SO not looking forward to this My surgery is 3/1, but not till the afternoon. My doctor said if I wanted to wait until the morning of surgery that I could do the prep til then, but I'm worried that I would have a "problem" on the way to the Castle! So to be on the safe side I'll do the prep Monday night after getting home from my evening job I also was instructed that I have to do a Benedine douche...did anyone have to do that also? I might wait until the morning to do that one.
Lois

Hi Lois -
The Betadine douche is simple - you can do it in the shower and it just goes straight into you and then runs straight out!
Good luck!

Fleet Bowel Prep Kit #1
The hosp. where I had my surgery had me go to a special pre-op nurse, who went over everything about the bowel prep, gave me a typed paper with instructions, and everything.
The phosphosoda tasted like....I don't know WHAT! I swallowed it in fast gulps. Fleet enemas are a breeze, they are small, you know where to put the thing, squeeze it in. Try to hold it in if you can, then sit on the toilet. Your body knows what to do after that! No guessing here. I never took so many cr@ps in my life!
The phosphosoda eventually kicks in, and you think of it as liquid plummer for your bowels. They want your intestines cleaned out in case they need to do something to the intestine, and they don't want feces accidentally contaminating your insides.
I had this prep because they knew I had cancer, it was a big adbominal incision, and that's the procedure for it...clean 'em out!
After you are done with surgery, you won't even think about it. I'd rather do that than to go to the dentist. Of course, neither is my idea of fun.
