3 weeks post op symptoms
Michelle,
I have the same thing. Our surgery was only 5 days apart. I can't sit up in a chair for a prlonged period of time so I lean back often and sit in my recliner as much as possible. DH has been great rubbing my back for me. Legs are just starting to bother me though. Just walk a bit and then sit a bit...helps a little. I also have taken an Advil on occassion just to help with the discomfort.
I am trying to take it easy today prior to our picnic because I get really tired by the end of the day even if I hardly exert myself. I want to really enjoy myself since this is our first family event since the surgery.
Dr told me that the pulling in my tummy is just the nerves and muscles waking up. How is it that something that feels numb is waking up??? Mine is not where the incision is, but below my belly button down to right above the incision.
Take it easy..call the dr tomorrow or even today if they get too bad.
Feel better soon,
amy

michelle,
I still have discomfort, and my TAH was four days before yours. I too have discomfort in my crotch when sitting in a regular chair,(just complaining to my mom this morning about that) and I also have alot of lower back pain, stabbing pains, nausea and more achey by the end of the day.........we will get better.
Hang in there!

I'm having similar issues post surgery and am starting to get worried about the stomach pains when sitting. I also have the pressure feeling when sitting. Thank you for sharing. There is a relief in knowing that what I'm feeling is not unusual.

3 weeks post op symptoms
I am having stomach pains off and on all day but really bad at night when I lay on my back. Its in my upper stomach no where near my incisions which are healed now. Do you think its from all the pain meds etc..I often take sleeping pill at nite to get a good nites sleep and I am wondering if all that is making my stomach upset. Its like pains then they go away for a bit. Or could it be acid reflex I wonder/ Just started since the surgery.
Thanks for any advice.

i get acid reflux and my tummy hurts and burns and so does my mid chest.....pain meds can mess your tummy up if taken long term. I have a bad tummy and my GERD is acting up since surgery..

3 weeks post op symptoms
Hi all! I'm 3 wks post op and I've been having similar issues. Severe gas pain once in a while, (especially before I need to move my bowels). I've also noticed dairy really aggrivates this. Also, the swelly belly thing which is worse at the end of the day. I walk alot. which seems to help. But I'am still waking up often during the night bc I get uncomfortable and I also have been having the wierdest dreams since surgery. Take care all. Glad we have this website to compare notes.
