2-1/2 Weeks Post-Op with Back Pain

Hi Ladies, I had my Da Vinci partial hyster just over 2 weeks ago and have been recovering very well. Last night, I ventured out with my husband and did a substantial amount of walking (about 12 city blocks, not all at once). Today, my lower back is aching. Did I over do it? I'm going for my post-op appointment tomorrow, but just curious if anyone else has had similar back pain. Thanks!

Sounds like you could have over done it a little bit & your body is telling you. Just take it easy for a few days & it should go away. Glad you are doing well.

I agree that you may have done a little bit too much too soon.

Take it easy and I hope your checkup goes well! Remember, you are still a and very early in your recovery.

Re: 2-1/2 Weeks Post-Op with Back Pain

YES!! take it easy - it took me till week 3 (this week) to do long walks. My physio says 30 minutes MAX - it is not just the movement of walking it is the whole standing up thing.
Have you been doing your pelvic exercises? Pelvic tilt, pelvic floor & pull in lower abs whilst lying on your back with knees bent. I was told to do them from day 3 to strengthen pelvic girdle & to prevent weakening of my back.
Also when you are walking try to stand as straight as possible (Alexander Technique).
Take care, Gem xx
