Advice to pre op patients READ THIS!

I had my surgery the 23rd of April 2012. The first day in the hospital after the surgery meds wore off I felt pressure/like I had to make a bm. NO pain.
The next day and for 3 days after I took my meds as directed because I was afraid pain would come. It never did. I was only on over the counter advil by a week and no pain was ever present. Except the brief shoulder gas pains from being put under, the were sharp but brief....... no biggie.
You are given a 2 week or so supply. Do not be afraid to use them to the maxim dose if you need to!
They constipate you so drink tons of water, constipation is something you dont need in addition to this. Docolax, tons of water and fiber.
I was out and about 5 days post op, and feeling great!
Kind of like when you had the flu or had been sick that first day you are better,,,,,, you get up feeling great, but a few hours later you are wiped out?
Your body is healing and you do have to listen to it. AND do listen to the doctor about lifting and your restrictions. Other wise listen to the body if you get sore, rest.
I felt different, little pulling here and there from adjustments on the inside, some were sore ( nothing in comparison to my cramps pre surgery) Healing,,, I felt it and it was strange but not a lot of pain.
DO NOT read every detail on here of the post ops..... read them when, and if, you have a problem or a question.
Otherwise let your experience be open minded and positive, until you have questions.
Normal for you is ,,,, normal..... dont let the negative seep in.
For me my 8 years of prolonged pain, and heavy periods, and anemia were life draining. NO one knew... I never complained.
Today I am pain free, and feel clean and refreshed every day. I used to feel bloated, pain, and a general dirty feeling from all the blood.
Have a positive attitude, embrace the anxiety a little as if you had NO fear that would be rare. A little bit of worry is normal, and with a good attitude it is much better!
I had a c section 18 yrs ago and this was a piece of cake. For me this is the BEST decision I have ever made for my body.
Good luck, listen to your body, do not micro manage your thoughts on this, be open to the future....... remember the side effects are temporary most of the time and this is supposed to improve your health!
8 weeks later, and I feel like a brand new woman, not a 46 year old but more like 30!
