Almost miraculous!

Good afternoon sisters.

I am home after having a TAH two days ago. I am AMAZED at how little pain I have and at good I feel. All that fretting for nothing, but there was simply no way to know.

My girlfriend who stayed both nights at the hospital thinks I am the Bionic Woman or something. I had to wake her up so she could drive me home! Before being released this morning, I had breakfast, a shower, and a walk down the hall alone.

Of course I am shaky and sore, but that's to be expected. So, before I go back to my throne, I wanted to thanks you all again for being here for me.

Hi Judy Newman I had my hysterectomy on the same day as you 8/24 and I too am surprised at how well things are going. I got to go home on the 25th in the afternoon. I was very happy because I was having back spasms that I thought was due to the hospital bed but in retrospect, I think it was from the surgery itself. All in all I really worried myself into a frenzie preoperatively and I wasted alot of time being afraid. But it is natural to be a bit worked up before a major surgery but I am hoping some of the hystersisters-to-be will be comforted by positive post like ours. I think I will put an uplifting post in the pre-op section for the ladies to read.
Well I hope that you continue to do well and enjoy this period of R and R in your life Sincerely Sharon

So glad to read that you are feeling so good!! :-)

I had LSH/BSO and was also suprised at how well I did! I was able to go home only a few hours after surgery, off ALL pain meds AND was driving by 6 days post-op, sex at 7 days ...and now, 17 days post-op, I am still a little tender but doing almost everything I want to! Thats even after being hit by a car (I was on foot, in my own driveway) 6 days post op!

About the accident...I am not wonder woman either...it was fairly minor. Long story short...drunk teens in their lil white beater car backed their car into my hubbys truck, pinning me between hubbys truck and my van. I had some bruising on my thigh and it messed up my back some...but THANFULLY it didn't seem to hurt my surgical sight AT ALL. I was very lucky!

OMG, Mrs. Gnarly! I am so glad you are OK!!! I guess being squashed by a car was the last thing you expected!

And dear sisters, I am indeed behaving regardless of how good I feel. I have a regimen of sleeping-reading-snacking-walking-sleeping-reading-snacking-walking, etc. I hope to soon add going potty to my list. (Sorry - is that ? I hope my fiber therapy kicks in soon.)

Love to you all.
