dr. visit withdrawl

I am a little embarassed to post this but it has not been discussed that I can see. You see I actually liked going for the Dr visits and hospital stay. I guess all the attention one gets, everyone was so nice during my surgery and all. Now I am released to not have any followup visits or anything and am actually missing it. I guess I was so anxious about what was happening to me that I got so involved with it that it consumed my whole attention at the time. And now I have to get on with things. Has anyone experience this.

Hi

I can't say that I enjoyed the office visits, but the pampering I got from being a Princess I did get to liking too much. I really miss it some times. Now things are back to normal and no one fusses over me anymore. So I guess it is sort of the same thing. Guess we can get addicted to that pampering . God Bless.

I'm still pre-hyst but am noticing that I can think of little else. I'm sure it will be hard to transition back to the Real World after surgery. When something's been a big part of your life and mental energy for a while, its absence can leave you feeling a little lost.

Post op

I think my hysterectomy consumed alot of my life both pre op and post op..I had a month to waite to have it done so alot of thinking to do about it and you have no idea how many times I came to this site and read and read and read..I have not gone for my post op visit yet..next week..and I only stayed in the hospital one nite. But have been getting major pampering at home. My husband is off work due to work injury and has had two surgeries and one coming up next month too..So he's been getting alot of pampering in the last yr..And we woman tend to be overdoers and don't take time to ourselves..At first when I got out of the hospital I felt like..well like I was useless cuz I could not do anything and my hubby refused to let me do ANYTHING..It's just been the last few days that he even lets me fix myself something to eat..But you know I really have enjoyed it cuz it makes me feel wanted and loved..And I was just telling him last nite that I am going to miss this pampering..But he said well you still have five weeks to go til you can do everythign..He's been so good..I think it is pretty normal how many other times do we as women just think of ourselves and what we are going thru and what we have to do to get thru it? I think that is how we heal and get better..And alot of it is mental too..We are losing a part of us that has been with us for all of our lives..That is how I feel..Even tho I knew I wasn't ever having more children, it is hard on me mentally to know that now i CAN"T have anymore ..you know? But I agree the pampering has been wonderful..

Boy oh boy. My sweetie and I joked about this but in the sense that we thought my doctor would miss me. I'm one of the few patients he has that sits there and talks sports with him each visit. Then there was the whole big screen TV incident.

While he is a wonderful doctor and has taken excellent care of me over the last 5 years, I will not not not miss the appointments.
